Bodegas Poniente El Aljibe Amontillado is an amontillado Sherry produced by Bodegas Poniente in Jerez, Spain. Poniente is the family Sherry-producing bodega of renowned Spanish winemaker Alberto Orte. This extraordinary amontillado comes from the El Aljibe vineyard in Pago Añina and combines wines from six criaderas with an average age of around 40 years. The wine is bottled with minimal filtration and no fining. "Quite a deep hue for an Amontillado, with lots of sour dough, walnut, dried persimmon and some walnut. Painfully rich and salty with salted caramel, almonds and walnuts. Extremely concentrated and long." James Suckling
