Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Chateau Bela is a historic castle-hotel in Slovakia with a history spanning over 200 years. Renowned German winemaker Egon Müller decided to produce wine there in 2001, working with cellar master Miroslav Petrech. The winery today produces a range of critically acclaimed red and white wines, including Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, and Pinot Noir. Breslava is a white wine made from the homonymous grape variety created by Dorka Pospíšilová and Ondrej Korpás in 1960 by crossing Pink Gris, Traminer, and the Italian variety St. Maria d'Alcantara. The grape's name pays homage to Slovakia's capital, Bratislava. The grapes come from vineyards located in the Sturovo region, where the vines enjoy a cool climate influenced by the winds along the Danube, which keep the vines dry even in humid years. The soils, similar to those of the Austrian Kamptal region, with loess and sand on a clayey substratum and volcanic rock, are ideal for the production of high-quality white wines. After manual harvesting and vinification, the wine ages for approximately eight months in large oak barrels. The result is a fresh and fragrant wine with lively citrus and tropical fruit notes, followed by hints of wildflowers. On the palate, it is vibrant, light, and crisp, with a pleasant citrus concentration and an aromatic, thirst-quenching finish. Try it with medium-spicy Asian dishes or vegetable appetizers.
