Château Capion has a history that dates back to 1873, but 2016 ushered in a new chapter for the estate with a change of ownership and a major overhaul of the vineyard. A blend of mostly Roussanne with lesser parts Viognier and Bourboulenc, it is rich and full-bodied, with satiny texture and notes of peach, nectarine, quince and white flower blossom. For all its opulence it has superb restraint, a fine thread of acidity and underlying mineral tension. A delicious wine that would pair wonderfully with any fish or chicken dish.
