Cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant before serving. For hundreds of years, Chateau de Meursault has been part of the immortal landscape of the Burgundian countryside. While the current winery was built in 1980, the estate itself dates back to the 11th century. It’s located in Meursault, the Chardonnay-covered heart of the beautiful Côte de Beaune region. While the Meursault appellation is the estate’s home base, its fruits are sourced from several of Burgundy’s finest parcels of land. Chateau de Meursault has access to vineyards in 5 Grand Crus and 18 Premier Crus. “Les Charmes-Dessus” is the vineyard that defines Meursalt best, and is the origin of this elegant Chardonnay. Its nose is sharp and focused, exhibiting notes of yellow and green apple, lush pear, and dry citrus zest. The palate is juicy and fresh, with a fine structure and high levels of acid. The fruits for this wine were harvested from vineyards spanning just 3-hectares, and growing on marly limestone soil. This is a harmonious wine, with a long, satisfying finish and plenty of potential for ageing. You can find tart notes of quince and lemon verbena on the palate, mingling with hints of apple, brioche and honey. For pairing, consider drinking it with some classic French cuisine, such as freshwater fish on a blanket of vegetables, or a soufflé.
