Crozes Hermitage Les Jalets 2009 is a Syrah red wine from the Northern Rhône. The warm 2009 season accelerated ripening which softened tannins and produced straightforward, ripe syrah. Moderate extraction kept the wine bright in a year that could easily become heavy. Ageing in a mix of steel and older oak preserved definition and maintained a clean peppery line. The wine has now moved into a calm mid-weight phase with integrated fruit and a relaxed structure.
