Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in Serbia on the western slopes of Alma Mons, in the Syrmia region, the Erdevik winery owns a single plot of approximately 40 hectares, crossed by the 45th parallel (the same as the prestigious wine regions of Bordeaux and Piedmont). Viticulture here dates back to the time of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius Probus. The soil and climate conditions, the moderating effect of the Danube, and meticulous vineyard management guarantee the production of high-quality wines, primarily from international grape varieties. Trianon is a 19th-century Bordeaux-style red wine made from a blend of mostly Merlot, with smaller percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, sourced from the estate's own vineyard. After vinification, the wine ages for eight months in used French oak. In the glass, the wine reveals a powerful character and an intense, broad aromatic profile with interspersed notes of berry fruit, and floral and spicy hints on a smoky undertone. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, concentrated and ripe, with round, smooth tannins and a good acidic backbone that provides freshness and balance. The finish is long and elegant. Try it with a rib-eye steak, filet mignon, or beef Wellington.
