The 2013 Le Soula Rouge is a blend of 59% old-vine Carignan, 23% Syrah and 18% Grenache Noir from biodynamically farmed vineyards in the Fenouillèdes area of the Côtes Catalanes region in the far southwestern corner of France. This is a fresh and focused red wine, offering up abundant notes of cherry, raspberry, cassis, wild herbs, black pepper and earth. Medium-bodied and elegant, this is an easy-going yet characterful wine that would be a superb accompaniment to simple, rustic dishes.
