Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. The Mirafiore winery is one of the oldest in Piedmont. Founded in 1858 by the Count of Mirafiore, Emanuele Guerrieri, son of Vittorio Emanuele II, the company enjoyed great success until the start of the First World War. After the bankruptcy in 1930 and various events, the Mirafiore brand was recovered in 2009. The company today produces great wines from some of the most important vineyards of the Barolo appellation, and since 2018 it has obtained organic certification. The Langhe Nebbiolo di Mirafiore is produced with Nebbiolo grapes from selected vineyards located in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba. After fermentation, which takes place at a controlled temperature for 12-15 days, the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for a year. The wine has a garnet red color with ruby hues. Its aromatic profile is broad and reveals floral and fruity notes, sweet spices, tobacco and hints of tamarind. On the palate, this Nebbiolo is well balanced with a good acid vein and soft tannins. It is elegant and harmonious with a long and persistent finish that recalls balsamic notes. Perfect with pasta with game ragu, roast meat, and aged cheeses.
