Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. My Favorite Neighbor is a California winery founded in Paso Robles by winemaker Eric Jensen. The winery's name pays homage to Stephan Asseo, winemaker at L'Aventure Winery and a close friend and collaborator of Eric Jensen. Today, the winery works with local farmers demonstrating a strong commitment and respect for sustainability, to produce wines that best represent the terroir and embody the passion for Paso Robles winemaking. My Favorite Neighbor Chardonnay is made with grapes from San Luis Obispo and represents the full potential of Paso Robles for white wines. After vinification, the wine is aged for eight months in half-new French oak. The result is an extremely expressive and balanced wine that combines the elegance of Burgundy whites with the fruity richness of California Chardonnay. In the glass, the wine reveals a bright pale yellow color with greenish highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and ripe with notes of jasmine and verbena, citrus, yellow fruit, and hazelnuts, along with mineral accents and some spicy hints. On the palate, it is velvety and full-bodied, soft and balanced with good structure and lively acidity. It is fresh with a long, saline finish. Try it with shrimp cocktail, pasta carbonara, and poultry.
