Château Teyssier 2020 is a full-bodied Right Bank Bordeaux red wine from the Montagne-St-Emilion appellation. The historic property traces its history back to the 15 century and has gone from strength to strength since fourth-generation owner-winemaker Antoine Darquey took over its management in the 1990s. Initially benefitting from the consultancy expertise of Michel Rolland, and subsequently the esteemed Stéphane Derononcourt, Château Teyssier comprises about 50ha of vineyards planted with 90% merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc on rolling clay-limestone slopes in Montagne-St-Emilion. The terroir here is remarkably similar to that in St-Emilion proper. The wines of Teyssier frequently outperform those from the more prestigious neighbouring appellation. "With ripe black currant flavours, this is an immediately attractive wine. Soft tannins and rich berry fruits are balanced by fresh acidity." Wine Enthusiast
