Since 1997, it has been producing Columbia Valley wines from grapes sourced from the finest vineyards in Yakima Valley, Horse Heaven Hills, and Red Mountain, collaborating with local winemakers. Founders Bob and Cathy Betz sold the company to Steve and Bridget Griessel in 2011, and in 2024, the winery was acquired by Ackley Brands. The Untold Story is a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The grapes come from vines aged between 15 and 25 years old, cultivated using sustainable practices and planted on loess soils over sedimentary gravel. After vinification, the finished wine ages for 19 months in French oak (25% new) before bottling and a further 12 months in bottle. The wine's name is intended to inspire us to follow the dream, or the unspoken story within each of us, and achieve our goals. Indeed, this is a very inspired, harmonious, and characterful wine, displaying its power with elegance. On the nose, it reveals ripe notes of blueberry, currant, and blackberry, followed by spicy hints of tobacco and undergrowth. On the palate, it shows an Old World style: it has a medium-full body and ripe tannins. It is juicy, fresh, and smooth, with a smooth mouthfeel and a long, flavorful finish. Enjoy it with beef entrecote.
