Merchant's description

Founded in 1999 in one of Argentina’s best renowned regions – Luján de Cuyo in the north of Mendoza – Cheval des Andes symbolizes the perfect synergy between the French art of blending and New World creative innovation. The 2016 is a beautifully fresh and vibrant release from a slightly cooler vintage. The first vintage to incorporate 100% estate-grown fruit, it is a blend of 58% Malbec, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, vinified in stainless steel and matured in a combination of barriques and 400-litre barrels for 14 months. Of recent releases it has perhaps just a little more tension and youthful austerity, but this should only serve to help this wine age wonderfully over the next 10-15 years.
