Cloudy Bay needs no introduction — the wine that put Marlborough on the world map still delivers, and this Chardonnay is one of the range's most satisfying bottles. Made from Chardonnay grown across their Marlborough vineyards, it's fermented and aged in a mix of French oak, with enough creaminess to feel generous but enough freshness to stay honest. White peach, citrus pith, a little toasted almond — it's a wine that knows exactly what it wants to be. This is a Chardonnay for drinking with pleasure, not pondering at length. The 2021 vintage brought good ripeness and natural acidity to Marlborough, and it shows. We'd open this now through to around 2029, ideally alongside something from the sea.
