Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet 2016 is a full-bodied white Burgundy from the Grand Cru climat of Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet in the Chassagne-Montrachet commune of the Côte de Beaune. Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Fontaine-Gagnard is a family-run domaine with approximately 12 hectares of vineyards. It was formed in 1985 by Laurence Gagnard and her husband Richard Fontaine after Laurence inherited part of Domaine Gagnard-Delagrange. This particular release hails from the Grand Cru Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, one of the smallest AOCs in France covering just 1.6 hectares of land. 2021 was a difficult year in Burgundy yet one that yielded many elegant and approachable white wines, in particular those from the warmer sections of the Côte d`Or.
