Merchant's description
‘Silène’ is the Chave family’s entry-level bottling of red Crozes Hermitage. The Syrah grapes are vinified at the domaine using indigenous yeasts in wood tonneaux and stainless-steel tanks, then aged for 18 months in barriques. Ripe fruit balanced out by backbone and structure, the wine displays notes of plums, black pepper, pencil lead and warming spices.
