Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant. House of Arras is an award-winning Australian winery located in Tasmania's Tamar Valley wine region. Founded by Ed Carr in 1995, it produces exceptional sparkling wines, regarded as the country's finest. House of Arras's Grand Vintage is a sparkling wine of great elegance and refinement, produced from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes from the Derwent Valley, East Coast, and Coal River Valley vineyards of Tasmania. The six-year tirage gives it a complex character, while the low dosage respects the wine's nature, preserving the pure expression of the terroir and vintage. In the glass, the wine reveals a clear straw-yellow color with a greenish edge and fine bubbles. Its aromatic profile is broad, fragrant, and ripe, with notes of white peach, apple, and pear, citrus zest, and honey, followed by hints of brioche. On the palate, it is intense and dry, soft and velvety, with a distinctive minerality and lively acidity. The finish is long and persistent, recalling notes of apple pie and a touch of savory. It makes an excellent aperitif, but it's also versatile when paired with food. Try it with scallop risotto, seafood, or fried fish.
