Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 25 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Founded in 2004, Vina VIK is a Chilean winery with approximately 270 hectares of vineyards in the Cachapoal Valley, in the Central Valley. Produced only in limited editions and using organic and biodynamic practices, Stonevik is one of Vina Vik's most iconic wines, fully expressing the winery's holistic and modern vision. It is a blend of mostly Cabernet Franc, with additions of Cabernet Sauvignon, and a small percentage of Carménère, sourced from the La Cantera area of the Cachapoal Valley. Here, the Mediterranean climate, tempered by maritime influences, favors slow and uniform ripening, while the sedimentary colluvial soils with a sandy-loam texture favor the development of a distinct minerality. After vinification according to the lunar cycle in Barroir barrels, made from oak from the vineyard, the wine ages in amphorae, semi-underground and aligned according to astronomical principles, at an altitude of over 1,000 meters. The result is an intense and characterful wine with an expressive and broad aromatic profile that reveals notes of dark fruits such as currant and blackberry, interspersed with hints of aromatic herbs such as rosemary, lavender, and thyme, against a graphite background. On the palate, it is full and deep, concentrated and elegant, with velvety tannins and a well-balanced acidity. The finish is long and intense. Leave it in the cellar for a few years or enjoy it now with grilled red meat.
