Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Bodega Tapiz is an Argentine winery located in Tupungato, in the Mendoza region, and owned by Dr. Patrícia Ortiz since 2003. The wines are elaborated by an oenological team led by Fabian Valenzuela, with the advice of Jean Claude Berrouet, head winemaker at Chateau Petrus for over 40 years. The wine is a Merlot-led blend, with additions of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. The grapes come from the San Pablo vineyard, located at an altitude of 1350 meters above sea level in the Uco Valley, in the Mendoza wine region. Here the proximity of the Andes and the altitude guarantee low night temperatures which result in wines of great aromatic intensity, with deep color and excellent structure, capable of aging for a long time. The wine is aged for 11 months in French oak barrels. Tapiz Las Notas de Jean Claude is a wine of great intensity and richness that fully expresses the potential of its land of origin. The aromatic profile is complex with notes of fresh red fruits, raspberries, cassis, and truffles, accompanied by delicate spicy nuances. Finally, the aging in oak adds notes of coffee and chocolate. In the mouth the wine is powerful, but at the same time balanced and elegant with soft tannins. The finish is long and pleasantly intense. Try it with grilled meat, especially beef, and lamb.
