Aci Urbajs Organic Anarchy 2025

Aci Urbajs is a renowned Slovenian winemaker who owns approximately one hectare of vineyards on the Rifnik hill. His passion for viticulture blossomed in 1969, when his parents purchased the small plot. Since then, Aci has deepened his knowledge and developed a strong interest in biodynamic practices. His vines are cultivated without chemicals, and in the cellar he adopts a hands-off approach, using no sulfites to produce natural wines of excellent quality. Organic Anarchy is a blend of organically grown Riesling, Kerner, and Chardonnay grapes in the Slovenian region of Stajerska. Here, the 30-year-old vines thrive at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level and are rooted in marly soils. After fermentation, the wine ages for a year in old Slovenian oak barrels. Production is limited to 300 bottles. On the nose, the wine reveals a complex and layered aromatic profile with notes of orange and stone fruit, subtle hints of honey, and white flowers. On the palate, it is rich and smooth, with an oily texture and crisp acidity. It has a medium body and a juicy character. The finish is long and recalls mineral notes. It is a wine with an intense and distinctive character that pairs well with many Middle Eastern vegetarian recipes and medium-aged cheeses.
