Merchant's description

Château Angélus is one of the largest and most prestigious St-Emilion estates and was more recently promoted to top tier 1er Grand Cru Classé ‘A’ status in the 2012 St-Emilion reclassification. Angélus tends to be full-bodied, concentrated and silkily textured, with classic notes of black fruits, earth, tobacco and dried roses. The 1998 release is comprised of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc and should be approaching the peak of its powers.
