Before the second wine of Château Haut-Brion was renamed as Le Clarence de Haut-Brion, it was known as Bahans Haut-Brion. This is a fabulous wine nearing peak maturity that offers up deliciously rich scents of sweet black fruits, cherries, figs, woodsmoke, cedar and gravelly minerality. Superbly well-balanced with sumptuous texture and vibrant acidity, this does not possess the power and complexity of its grand vin big brother but is a gorgeous wine in its own right and one of the finest releases of Bahans.
