Named after a battle during The Hundred Years War in 1452, Château Batailley is a Fifth Growth estate situated in Pauillac. The property covers approximately 60 hectares of vineyard, and it is managed by the father-and-son team Frédéric and Philippe Castéja. This 1985 grand vin is now a fully mature Bordeaux, revealing notes of dark fruit, cigar box, tobacco, hints of green pepper and chocolate, all complemented by smooth tannins. Plenty of structure and vibrancy for its age.
