Merchant's description

The 2012 Château Bélair-Monange is a red wine from Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux, made predominantly from Merlot with a smaller percentage of Cabernet Franc. It`s the first vintage of this wine under its new name, following the acquisition of Château Bélair by the Moueix family of Pétrus fame and its merger with Château Magdelaine. The vineyards are situated on the Saint-Émilion plateau, noted for their unique asteria limestone soil. The 2012 vintage offers a lovely freshness and aromatic character. This wine presents elegant profile of dark berry fruit and a hint of forest floor. It has a full-bodied palate with a firm, well-integrated tannic structure and a very long finish. The wine has a great capacity for ageing and is considered to be one of the finest expressions of Saint-Émilion from the 2012 vintage.
