Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Located in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in Andalusia, Bodegas Cota 45 was founded in 2012 by Ramiro Ibáñez, after a series of experiences as a wine consultant in wineries in the region. The name Cota 45 refers to the altitude of 45 meters above sea level where the best albariza soils are found, the legendary limestone soil typical of the Jerez region. The wine is produced with 100% Listan (Palomino) grapes, obtained from 5 distinct vineyards aged between 35 and 110 years located in the Pago de Miraflores, Miraflores Alta and Miraflores Baja at 45-65 meters above sea level, and characterized by a mix of Albariza soils. Here, the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean guarantees elegance and delicacy in the wines. After the manual harvest, fermentation occurs spontaneously. The wine is then aged for 9 months in the barrel rooms. The wine has a bright golden yellow color. On the nose, it reveals notes of dried fruit and mineral and saline nuances. On the palate it is refreshing and savory, round and with a medium body. It has good citrus acidity and a long finish that recalls nutty flavors. Delicious as an aperitif on its own, with tapas, or with Iberian cured meats.
