Dominio del Aguila is a small, family run winery producing incredibly high quality and thoroughly modern wines in the village of La Aguilera in the Ribera del Duero. Though only established in 2010, winemaker Jorge Monzon is one of the most exciting prospects in the region having honed his skills at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Vega Sicilia. Canta la Perdiz is an incredibly limited release of a Tempranillo-dominant field blend from one of the oldest vineyards in the village. The 2016 is an extraordinary wine of remarkable aromatic complexity and depth. Full-bodied and sinewy yet beguilingly elegant, it unfurls in the glass to reveal wonderful layers of mulberry, blackberry, nutmeg, anise, Mediterranean herbs and earth.
