The 2005 release from Haut-Médoc property, Château Cantemerle, is classically firm and structured on the palate, but delivers admirable finesse and abundant waves of sweet black fruits, spices, liquorice, roasted herbs and tobacco. This is quintessential Left Bank Bordeaux made mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon with lesser parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc and is now perfectly in its prime drinking window but may well yet develop further over the next 5-10 years.
