The 20th anniversary vintage of Clos Apalta is made up of made up of 48% Carménère, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine spent 27 months in French oak barrels, 85% new, 15% second use. Deep garnet in appearance, the cuvée reveals a plethora of aromas, including redcurrants, raspberries and wild strawberries. Underpinned by soft tannins, the palate delivers touches of black olives, blackcurrants and liquorice. The wine has now its own specific appellation within the Colchagua Valley.
