Cellar for up to 25 years. Decant for up to 2 hours before serving. The Rose delle Casasse is a rare red wine from the Piedmont region of Italy, with a thick, intoxicating nose of rose petals, dark cherry, cassis, black pepper and tar. It is possibly the only Barbaresco in the world made from 100% Nebbiolo Rose, an under-utilised cousin of the famous Nebbiolo grape. Cascina Baricchi is a small family winery in the Langhe region of Piedmont, founded in 1989 by Natale Simonetta and his wife, Francesca. Although the Simonetta family create wines in the traditional style, with long macerations and extended ageing, they also offer something completely unique in the form of the Nebbiolo Rose grape, which will delight any wine enthusiasts seeking a deep-cut from a famous location. This Barbaresco opens with soft, rounded textures, and its depth and complexity are immediately evident. You can discover notes of cassis, plum, cherry, liquorice and subtle spice, but this wine will continue to evolve and develop over time. It is a Riserva, aged in casks for 4 years, and the bottle for 2 years, before being released. Consider pairing it with roast beef, wild boar, or a broad selection of strong cheese.
