Ceritas’ first vintage was in 2005 and is run by a small team led by founder, John Raytek. Cuvée Annabelle is made from 100% dry farmed Pinot Noir, sourced from the Kings Ridge Vineyard situated in the mountainous part of the Fort-Ross Seaview sub-appellation of the West Sonoma Coast. Raytek describes the wine as follows, `Fermented with 40% whole clusters. The huge core of fruit gives the Cuvée Annabelle tons of inner strength. With aeration, a whole range of dark red fruit, blood orange, and exotic spices explode out of the glass. On the palate flavors of lavender, rose petal jam, crushed rocks, and cardamom infuse the wine with rarely found depth. Beautifully layered fruit and tons of structure are equally enjoyable today but with time will develop.`
