Merchant's description

Based in the village of Chambolle-Musigny, Georges Roumier is a leading estate in Burgundy, producing some of the most sought-after wines in the world. Run since 1992 by Christophe Roumier – the founder’s grandson – the property covers 11.5 hectares in Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis and Corton-Charlemagne. This release comes from Les Cras is, a Premier Cru climat within the Chambolle-Musigny appellation which has similar limestone-marl soils to Bonnes-Mares. The 1996 vintage is in a great spot right now, with plenty of primary fruit flavours and well-integrated tannins.
