Cellar for up to 16 years. Decant 1 hour before serving. Self-taught winemaker Charles Smith spent his younger years managing rock bands and touring Europe on the concert circuit. While living the rock star lifestyle, he developed a love of fine wine and dining which would eventually spark a radical career change. Upon his return to the United States, Smith founded his very own winery and produced his first 300 cases of wine in 2001 in Washington State’s Walla Walla Valley. Over the past few decades Smith’s wines have been praised by top international winemakers and Smith himself has been named Winemaker of the Year by Food & Wine magazine, Wine Enthusiast, and Seattle Magazine. The Creator is a superb example of Smith’s winemaking talent, crafted from top quality fruit from the Powerline vineyard located in the Blue Mountains of Walla Walla Valley AVA. This powerful red is primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon along with a smaller proportion of Syrah. Luscious cassis, black olive, tobacco leaf, graphite and earthy notes define the flavour profile with a very long, lingering finish. A rich full body, firm tannins and great structure make this a perfect wine to hold in the cellar for another decade or so.
