Merchant's description

Egly Ouriet Grand Cru Millésime 2000 is a highly esteemed vintage Champagne, meticulously crafted by Francis Egly, a pioneer in the grower Champagne movement. Sourced exclusively from Egly-Ouriet`s old-vine Grand Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims (primarily Ambonnay, with some Bouzy and Verzenay), this wine exemplifies their commitment to low yields, extended lees aging (over 80 months for the 2000 vintage), and minimal dosage. The 2000 vintage in Champagne, while marked by some hail in early summer, benefited from a warm, dry September, resulting in ripe, healthy grapes that provided a strong foundation for a concentrated and expressive wine. The assemblage for this wine is around 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.
