Philippe Colin carved out his own domaine in 2007 after the family estate was divided, and En Remilly is one of his finest calling cards. The climat sits at the top of the slope in Chassagne-Montrachet, just below the grand cru boundary it shares with Saint-Aubin, and the wines it produces have a distinctly mineral, tightly wound personality that sets them apart from the richer, more obviously generous premiers crus lower on the hill. This is Chardonnay that makes you sit up straight.
