Merchant's description

Chasselas Vin de France Pierre Gonon 2023 is a white wine from the Northern Rhône region of France. While the region is primarily known for its red varieties, the Gonon estate maintains this small parcel, planted in 1890 on gneiss soils, to produce a white wine of startling freshness and mineral drive. The grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and the juice is racked into fermentation casks before ageing in barrique and demi-muid on fine lees for 11 months with regular stirring. It is characterised by its transparency and tension, reflecting the brothers` meticulous approach to viticulture and their desire to experiment with traditional varieties.
