Château Canet's Minervois La Chapelle is rich and full-bodied yet lifted, with old-vine Grenache delivering generous, fleshy fruit, fine ripe tannins, and a bright mix of berry and violet on the finish. It’s already drinking beautifully, but a subtle leathery note hints at what a few more years in bottle will bring. La Chapelle takes its name from the 12th-century chapel that once stood in this vineyard, now home to the estate’s oldest Grenache vines. With yields as low as 20hl/ha, the parcel was nearly pulled up in 2009, but Floris and Victoria chose to preserve it - a decision that’s clearly paid off.
