An unusual Bordeaux that celebrates Carménère, a grape variety that originated in Bordeaux but was forgotten in the wake of Phyloxera as the vineyards were replanted with more tractable varieties. A combination of a greater understanding of its quirks, and the effects of global warming, have persuaded Chateau la Tuilerie du Puy that the time for Carménère to stage its comeback. Tasting Notes: Colour - Deeply coloured, almost inky black in the centre. Nose - Marked by notes of black and red fruits, hints of undergrowth, pepper, liquorice, menthol and subtle herbaceous nuances Palate - Fleshy, with a balanced acidity and fine silky tannins. Generous fruit develops in the mouth. Beautiful aromatic persistance on the finish Chateau la Tuilerie du Puy
