Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape 1998 is a full-bodied, blended red wine from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of the southern Rhône Valley. Tracing its history back to 1549, when Pierre de Beaucastel purchased his first plot of Coudoulet vines, Château de Beaucastel has been operated since 1909 by successive generations of the Perrin family. Beaucastel continues to reside among the elite producers of the Châteauneuf region. The 1998 Châteauneuf-du-Pape rouge is available here in magnum format. "The atypically Grenache-dominated 1998 Chateauneuf du Pape is fully mature and gives up tons of kirsch, garrigue, liquorice and a touch of gaminess in its full-bodied, layered and ripe personality. More rounded and sexy than most vintages, it has no hard edges, plenty of mid-palate depth and a great finish." Wine Advocate, 2015
