Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Laurence Pegau 2001
Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Laurence Pegau 2001 is a dry, very full-bodied red from Grenache (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France), in the rich, smooth reds style. Tannins are moderate and acidity gentle; oak influence is little. Those scales describe the wine when young; this is a 25-year-old bottle and its tannin and oak will have softened. Good with lamb, roast vegetables, steak, beef stew.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Laurence Pégau 2001 is a prestige red wine from the Southern Rhône. This bottling is essentially the domaine`s Cuvée Réservée that has undergone an extended maturation period of four years in old oak foudres. The 2001 release is a traditional blend dominated by Grenache, offering an intense bouquet of kirsch, herbes de Provence, leather and smoked meats. The extra time in wood has resulted in a wine of remarkable textural smoothness and aromatic complexity.
