Cheval Blanc was effectively created in 1832 when a portion of the vineyards belonging to Chateau Figeac were sold off to M. Laussac-Fourcaud. Given the highest possible rank in the appellation, Premier Grand Cru Classé (A), Cheval Blanc`s Cabernet Franc-heavy blend is considered by many to be the pinnacle of winemaking in France. 2000 was fairly warm and very dry, resulting in concentrated and powerful wines. Coinciding with the change of centuries, this is a very great vintage with an outstandingly intense bouquet.
