Domaine Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne 2012 is a Burgundy white wine from the Grand Cru of Corton-Charlemagne on the hill of Corton in the Côte de Beaune. Fifth-generation winemaker Jean Boillot is one of the most exciting emerging talents in Burgundy, a winemaker whose diligent work in the vineyards (both his family`s and those he manages for negociant label) and the cellar yields wines of extraordinary purity, depth and terroir transparency. "This is aromatically restrained to the point of being almost mute and only grudgingly displays notes of citrus peel, green apple, white flowers and wet stone. There is excellent verve and intensity to the detailed and mineral-inflected broad-shouldered flavours that culminate in a focused, complex and powerfully long finish that is markedly austere and saline. This superbly long effort will need plenty of time to unwind as it`s presently very, very tight but it should handsomely repay extended cellaring." Burghound, 2014
