René Rostaing and his son Pierre, who has taken over the winemaking, are known for crafting exceptional Syrah-based wines that express the unique terroir of the region. Cote Blonde is known for its lighter, more elegant soils, which are composed of schist and granite, resulting in wines with great finesse and aromatic complexity. The Cote Blonde typically has a small percentage of Viognier co-fermented with the Syrah, adding floral and aromatic nuances to the wine. "Relatively pale colour - blonde indeed.
