From one of the most respected growers in the Côte des Blancs, Dhondt-Grellet Les Nogers 2020 is drawn from a single vineyard in Cuis, a site that highlights the purity and chalk-driven character that has become central to the domaine`s reputation. Produced from Chardonnay and handled with a restrained, terroir-focused approach, the wine reflects both the warmth of the 2020 vintage and the tension of its limestone-rich soils. The nose opens with white flowers, lemon zest, fresh pear and crushed oyster shell, layered with subtle notes of toasted almond and brioche from extended lees ageing. The palate is concentrated yet finely detailed, carrying flavours of citrus oil, green apple, ripe stone fruit and chalk dust across a taut mineral framework. A gentle creaminess from maturation adds texture without diminishing the wine`s energy, while the mousse remains delicate and persistent. The finish is long, saline and precise, leaving impressions of citrus peel, wet stone and subtle pastry notes. There is impressive depth here, but also considerable restraint, making it a compelling expression of both site and producer.
