Merchant's description

Cellar for up to 8 years. Decant 1 hour before serving. The Marlborough Wine Region is hands-down the epicenter of wine production in New Zealand. The light-red perfumed Dog Point Pinot Noir originates from the wineries in this region. It expresses the invaluable quality of the Pinot Noir grapes and the passion of the winemakers. James and Wendy Healy's partnership with Ivan and Margaret Sutherland has greatly influenced the quality and standards of wine produced. Its aroma entails vibrant notes of red rose, lavender, dry herbal undertones, blueberry, and brown cinnamon alongside deep creaminess. The palatial backbone is an enticing taste of soft tannins coupled with luscious fruits and a long earthy finish. Delicate acidity carries the rich, intense flavors across the tongue, contributing to a complex well-balanced structure. This wine is a typical Marlborough Pinot Noir with its sophistication. Before manual sorting, the Pinot Noir grapes are handpicked and cooled for the entire night. Part of the grapes is harvested full-stem, while three-quarters of them are destemmed in the process. With the help of yeast, the grapes undergo fermentation for 21 days, after which they are pressed and stored in French oak barrels, where they age for close to one and a half years. Bottling takes place afterward without any clarification. Ideal when aerated for 2 to 3 hours. Delicious when served alongside meat delicacies and oily fish.
