Merchant's description

Cellar for up to 15 years. Decant for an hour before serving. This Chambolle-Musigny by A.F. Gros is an ethereal, garnet-coloured wine with an elegant bouquet of cassis, red currant, and liquorice and purple flowers, with underlying hints of herbs and red earth. It is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, plucked from across 5 plots and 10 hectares that wrap around this famous village in the Côte de Nuits. The Gros family and the region of Vosne-Romanee go hand in hand. In 1988, the family estate was divided, and Anne-Francoise inherited a significant portion of the domain from her father Jean. It encompasses 11 hectares of prime Pinot Noir soil, and has since spread outside of the family’s home region, to famous appellations such as Beaujolais and the picturesque Chambolle-Musigny. This wine is silky and refined - it melts in the mouth with flavours of sweet black cherry jam, red currant, bramble raspberry, and more than a hint of liquorice, cinnamon, and dried herbs. Velvety tannins impart a viscous feeling in the mouth and marry with vibrant acidity to impart a considerable structure. It will soften with some time in the cellar. Consider pairing it with roasted red meats, aged cheeses, or truffle dishes.
