Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in Clessé, Domaine de la Bongran is a family-run winery spanning 15 hectares of vineyards in the Mâconnais wine region of Burgundy. In the vineyard, work is carried out in harmony with nature and respecting ancestral winemaking traditions, to best express the great complexity and uniqueness of the Burgundy terroir. Bongran Viré Clessé Quintaine Cuvée E.J. Thévenet is an emblematic wine of this winery, a tribute to Gautier's grandfather and father (Emile and Jean Thévenet, respectively), and to the long traditions that bind this family to the Quintaine terroir. The organically grown Chardonnay grapes are sourced from old vines planted on the area's typical Oxfordian white marl soils. On the nose, the wine displays a fresh and expressive aromatic profile with fragrant notes of white flowers, fresh citrus, and verbena on a mineral undertone, typical of its terroir. On the palate, it is vibrant, lean, and energetic, with a powerful natural freshness and a rich texture. The finish is long and balanced. Try it with grilled white meats, fish in a white sauce, or with tagliolini with truffles.
