It clearly shows good aging potential, but if you can't resist opening a bottle, serve it with duck breast in Port sauce or a mushroom quiche.

Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Founded in 1750, Domaine de Montille is located in Volnay. Its long history has had difficult moments, but the estate was recovered in 1947 by Hubert de Montille, who then passed it on to his son Etienne. The Pinot Noir grapes come from a plot of just over half a hectare located on the northern slope of the hill below the 1er cru Les Thorey and are grown organically and biodynamically. The name Aux Saints Juliens is linked to the ancient presence of a chapel from the 6th century that has disappeared and has been replaced by a cross. After the harvest, fermentation takes place mainly in vats and the finished wine then rests in barrels (20% of which are new). The Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Saints Juliens from Domaine de Montille is a delicate and complex wine, with a broad aromatic profile that reveals floral and fruity notes and subtle spicy hints. On the palate, it is generous and expressive, soft and fresh. It is lively and well-structured. It has a medium body, smooth tannins, and a long finish that recalls fruity and earthy notes. It clearly shows good aging potential, but if you can't resist opening a bottle, serve it with duck breast in Port sauce or a mushroom quiche.
