Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Domaine Philippe Leclerc is a renowned French Burgundy estate, located in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1976. The company is famous for its excellent and elegant Pinot Noir wines, a pure expression of the exceptional terroir of the Côte de Nuits. The estate extends over approximately 7.5 hectares of vineyards cultivated with sustainable agriculture methods. This regional cuvée is made with Pinot Noir grapes from the estate's vineyards located in the Côte de Nuits, on clay-limestone soils. Here, the temperate continental climate favors slow ripening and the development of a broad aromatic profile. Vinification is traditional, preserving the pure expression of the grape variety and producing elegant wines of great character. The result is a youthful and approachable Burgundy wine that reveals an intense, brilliant ruby color in the glass. Its aromatic profile is broad and fruity, with notes of dark raspberry, wild strawberry, and black cherry, followed by hints of Mediterranean herbs and violets on a background of forest floor. On the palate, it is fresh and juicy, lively and crisp, with a pronounced acidity and soft tannins. It is smooth and balanced, with a long, elegant finish. Best food pairings include herb-roasted chicken, eggs à la meurette, and seared duck leg.
