It is a wine capable of aging and developing beautifully for a couple of decades, but if you can't resist, enjoy it with a beef bourguignon, a truffle risotto, or a grilled duck breast.

Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Domaine Potinet-Ampeau is a Burgundy estate located in Monthelie, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, not far from Meursault, Volnay, and Auxey-Duresses. The vineyards extend over approximately 10 hectares and are managed using sustainable farming practices. The company, which produces a wide range of white and red wines, is led by Vincent Durrieu, the fifth generation of the family. The Pinot Noir grapes are selected and harvested by hand from Clos Les Chenes, one of Volnay's most emblematic vineyards, on clay-limestone soils that give the wine aromatic complexity. After spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine is transferred to Allier oak barrels, where it ages for approximately 1.5 years before a period of stabilization in tanks and bottling. The result is a great wine with a refined character, a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir. On the nose, the wine displays a broad and complex aromatic profile with notes of black cherry, raspberry, and violet, interspersed with hints of sweet spice and underbrush. On the palate, it is soft, elegant, balanced, and round, with smooth tannins and a pleasant, refreshing acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with subtle hints of underbrush. It is a wine capable of aging and developing beautifully for a couple of decades, but if you can't resist, enjoy it with a beef bourguignon, a truffle risotto, or a grilled duck breast.
