Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Known for its excellent wines from several Burgundy appellations, Domaine Seguin-Manuel has been located in the Côte de Beaune since 1824. In 2004, the estate was acquired by Thibaud Marion, who expanded the vineyards and production while maintaining a style that combines tradition and innovation. In 2015, the domain received organic certification. The Chardonnay grapes are hand-picked from a vineyard located at the foot of the Montrachet hill, north of the Puligny-Montrachet appellation, on clay-limestone soil with some sand. After harvesting and fermenting in oak barrels, the finished wine rests on the lees for approximately one year before bottling. In the glass, the wine reveals a golden color with bright highlights. Its aromatic profile is fresh and expressive, with notes of white fruit and citrus, floral hints, and nuances of vanilla on the finish. On the palate, it displays the distinctive linearity of Puligny wines, with a pleasant minerality and a lively, crisp character. It is lean, energetic and elegant, with a long, complex finish. Try it with grilled langoustines, scallops in white wine sauce, or French Cantal cheese.
