Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Led by Jean-François Bordet, Domaine Séguinot Bordet is one of the oldest family wineries in Chablis, founded in 1590 in Maligny. The vineyards extend over approximately 16 hectares and include some of the most prestigious Premier Cru and Grand Cru appellations, with Kimmeridgian soils typical of the region. Bourgogne Chardonnay is Domaine Seguinot-Bordet's entry-level wine, an accessible and youthful wine made with Chardonnay grapes from vineyards planted on the right bank of the Serein River, on calcareous marl soils. Here, the vines, between 15 and 30 years old, enjoy a south/southeast exposure. After harvesting and fermenting in stainless steel, the wine ages in stainless steel for approximately one year. The result is a fresh and fragrant wine that reveals a youthful and broad aromatic profile on the nose with fruity notes of citrus, peach, and apricot, followed by hints of lemongrass and wildflowers, on a delicate mineral undertone. On the palate, it is lively, with medium acidity and a creamy mouthfeel. It has a medium-light body and a well-defined minerality that extends into a persistent finish. It is an easy-drinking wine with an elegant character that pairs well with oysters, seafood risotto, and rainbow trout.
